Ben Faulkner 20/04/2019 Second trip to Les Croix, this time only Sam (the dog) and myself. What a trip it has been. As the rest of the family were not in attendance this allowed slightly more fishing time. Sam and I fished from 07.00 hours -12.00 hours we had lunch and then started again at 16.00 hours - 22.00 hours. This bait and wait tactic worked a treat as we ended up catching twenty carp ranging from 8lb up to 59lb 12oz.5 x below 30lb, 5 x 30 lb+, 7 x 40 lb +, 3 x 50lb+. Fantastic fishing at a top fishery/holiday destinantion. The gite same as last time was perfectly clean and a great base for one man and his dog. Three superb meals which I can highly recommend.
Thanks to Jon, Lisa and Bailey.

Always a pleasure to be back at Les Croix. The whole atmosphere of the place is a credit to Jon, Lisa and of course Bailey. The environment is a treasure, cuckoos, kingfishers, frogs and of course the immaculate fish. Whilst the weather has been a challenge at times (the coldest start in May in 50 years) the fishing has produced seven carp including a 60lb and two 50lbs – where else could you do that ? Jon asked if its too good LOL ? I certainly have been spoilt and look forward to our visit in September and 2020. Many many thanks.

As always it is with some sadness that we write our resumé as it means another fabulous holiday at Les Croix has come to an end. Great to catch up on all the news from Jon, Lisa and Bailey. Being at Les Croix is always a pleasure. Enjoying the peace and tranquillity, the bird watching and of course the incredible fishing. The weather and conditions may have been variable and challenging but the fish caught were superb. As soon as we drive out of the gate we will be counting down until our next visit. See you again in October.

First visit but definitely not the last! We loved the sheep, birds, frogs, water voles, the goats -Dotty, Jennifer, Jemima and of course the lovely dog, Bailey. Such picturesque grounds and tranquillity. The gite was very clean with a comfortable bed and a good shower. Cooked lots of nice meals in the well equipped kitchen – ingredients purchased from the lovely local supermarket Hyper U. My husband was very excited to hear the bite alarm go off for the first time only to find a pike on the other end followed by 5 small fish. But then again he did have 4 big fish from 34lb-46lb so no complaints. Thank you for our welcome pack – very thoughtful. Good luck to you both we will be back next year !

Our 8th visit to Les Croix and for many reasons perhaps the most memorable. With a target of 5 fish for the week, to have caught three by the close of business on the Saturday of arrival was more than a great start, and beyond my wildest expectations !
To have caught 28 fish by the end of the week including 3 x 60’s, a 50, and 10 x 40’s has been quite amazing. A number of factors were aligned in my favour, with good weather conditions and a drop in air temperature and air pressure early in the week resulting in a group of fish on the feed. Knowing how unpredictable fishing is, and being well aware that sometimes a single fish can transform a week, I know just how lucky I have been this trip. I will return next spring with a modest target, and will take it from there ! Having seen the growth rates of many of the fish caught this week, there may well be a few surprises ! On the holiday side, finding new places to have lunch or coffee and cakes has kept us busy in between fishing sessions. Jon and Lisa have been great guides and we are compiling a nice portfolio of favourites. The pool being open was a real bonus for Julie and the pool patio area providing a nice sheltered spot out of the breeze. Great to catch up with Jon, Lisa nd Bailey and to witness once more the consistently high level of care and attention being paid to the venue and its guests. Thanks for the welcome pack and the introduction to the Nestlé choc bar ! Already looking forward to 2020 visits !

Another wonderful week here at Les Croix, complete relaxation in a beautiful setting. The gite is perfectly clean and the welcome hamper and flowers always much appreciated. The weather has been one of the hottest weeks we have had, so the pool has been an absolute god send ! A difficult week fishing wise but Ken is still going home a happy man with six fish caught including the stunning “zip linear” (one on his hit list!)
Thank you as always for a brilliant time we are going home with our batteries charged. All the very best.

Always a pleasure and privilege to be here at Les Croix and as always sad that our Autumn trip has come to an end. Thank you to Jon, Lisa and Bailey (who has become a real star!) for their warm welcome and for making it such an enjoyable trip. Despite variable Autumn weather there has been lots of birds and wildlife activity, including a yellow and black striped salamander – a first for us. As far as the fishing, well just stunning. It had its challenges with variable wind conditions, rain and high pressure- but- Jim leaves having caught a total of 45 fish. This includes “Slate” at 60lbs at 7.35pm on our first day, and having not caught “Emma” for 3 and half years she came out this trip at 69lbs. The catch also included 3x50lbs, 12x40lbs, 13x30lbs plus others. All superb fish in a great condition. Thank you Jon. Thanks also for the great blog updates, we recommend, take time to look. It makes great reading and gives a wealth of information. Bye for now and look forward to returning in May 2020.
